The Provence in London
A long and narrow plot connected to a Victorian terraced house, this was a project we needed to transport from London to the Provence region in the south of France.
The pergola structures and climbing plants played a vital role on adding height and interest into this bland typical London garden. A stepping stone path imbedded in self binding gravel leads to a hidden children's play area at the back, screened by a trellis with climbing roses.
An olive tree in the middle of a mixed border with grasses and seasonal flowering plants provide the main floral interest. A simple sculpture made out of a 19th century cart wheel provides an element of art. Box topiary balls and big planters with lavenders complete the scheme. A lighting plan has been implemented to produce that extra atmosphere in the evening.
